A really lovely eatery. Food was top quality, we had the vegan breakfast. Staff all lovely and friendly.
Seriously the best customer service experience. This is a menu unlike any other. Taste by name, taste by nature. Unusually, they're wasn't anything on the menu I didn't like. It was all so very tempting. The Ploughman's had 3 cheeses and plenty of variety; it was served with a delicious warm baguette and butter. The extra big breakfast was very much enjoyed. I asked for tap water and was surprisingly brought a glass of water, complete with ice and lemon. Attention to detail is excellent. The child changing facilities were in the toilet, but a clean change mat and stand were provided. When we had an issue with something, the staff were exceptional. I will be returning soon.
How had this place passed me by!? From the cute wallpaper, to the festive cutlery sleeves, it's the details that impressed me here. The service was great and honest. The food was delicious and the menu covered everything I could think of. Everyone in the cafe seemed cheerful and reluctant to leave... Which is the only problem, albeit a tiny one, with Taste: the number of covers. I'm worried I won't be able to get a table next time I go. But I'm looking forward to going back lots!
We have been here a few times and on every occasion we have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, the ambiance us lovely and all the staff are so friendly and polite. And as for the home-made cakes..oh my goodness, they are amazing! Today we had eggs benedict and a cheddar and bacon beefburger, and not a crumb was left. beautiful bacon and eggs, pancakes hot and soft and the ABSOLUTE BEST COFFEE I HAVE EVER HAD. Highly recommend! breakfast and a frappe for under 12? Amazing!
An absolutely lovely brunch and experience overall for my mum's Birthday. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Lovely decor and just a great all round vibe means we'll be coming back xx
Small cosy little place, great in winter. They do a fantastic breakfast and the tea/coffee is also superb. The atmosphere is obviously very good with it being such a small place and despite them always being busy, the service is very quick! Would highly recommend Taste if you're at a loose end in Retford.
